Summer Reading Club Coordinator

Job Summary

Under the supervision and direction of the Library Director and the Library Assistant II (Programming and Outreach), the Summer Reading Club Coordinator will have the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Develop and plan programs and materials for the Summer Reading Club following the 2018 theme.
  • Promote programs for the Summer Reading Club.
  • Decorate the children’s area for the Summer Reading Club following the 2018 theme.
  • Direct the Summer Reading Club Assistant, if applicable.
  • Deliver programs for the Summer Reading Club.
  • Maintain statistical records and write a final report for the Summer Reading Club.

Qualifications

  • Must be between the ages of 15 and 30, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee, have attended school full-time in the last academic year and intend to return to school for the next academic year.
  • Oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience working with children.

Term of employment

  • June 5 – August 31 2018 for 30 hours/week, subject to funding
  • Pay rate: $15/hour

Summer Reading Club Assistant

Job Summary

Under the supervision and direction of the Library Director and the Library Assistant II (Programming and Outreach), the Summer Reading Club Assistant will work with the Summer Reading Club Coordinator to deliver the annual Summer Reading Club Program.

Qualifications

  • Must be between the ages of 15 and 30, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee, have attended school full-time in the last academic year and intend to return to school for the next academic year.
  • Oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience working with children.

Term of employment

  • July 3 – August 31 2018 for 30 hours/week, subject to funding
  • Pay rate: $14.50/hour
