Living Wage Employer

The Grand Forks & District Public Library is proud to be a certified Living Wage Employer.

Living Wage is an opportunity for businesses to step up and make a positive and tangible contribution to the lives of thousands of BC families earning minimum wage while still living below the poverty line. Currently, the Minimum Wage in BC is $15.20/hour, which can leave many families choosing between paying rent or buying groceries. A “Living Wage” is the hourly amount a two-parent family with two children needs to cover basic expenses including food, clothing, rental housing, childcare, transportation, and small savings. It varies based on cost per region, and in Grand Forks the Living Wage was set at $20.05/hour in 2024.
