Donations of materials are evaluated according to the same selection criteria that govern the acquisition of purchased material.
The library reserves the right to refuse donations of materials that may not be in accordance with the selection policy. The library will not accept the following materials:
• National Geographic or weekly magazines
• Reader’s Digest condensed books
• Encyclopaedias or encyclopaedic series (cookbooks, etc.)
• Textbooks
• Pamphlets and tracts
• Items in poor condition
Materials donated become the exclusive property of the Grand Forks & District Public Library. The acceptance of materials does not mean that the library will automatically add the donation to the collection. Items may be disposed of as the library sees fit.
